Expert & Creator Policy
Effective date 1 September 2026
Last updated 13 August 2026
1. Purpose
This Policy governs experts, educators, creators and other contributors formally approved by Investment Nerds ("Contributors") to provide educational content, participate in designated programmes, or receive an Expert, Creator or similar designation on the Investment Nerds Platform.
It should be read together with the Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, Privacy Policy, Investment Education Disclaimer and Security & Responsible Disclosure Policy.
Approval as a Contributor is permission to participate in the relevant Investment Nerds programme. It is not a regulatory licence, professional accreditation, endorsement of every statement made by the Contributor, or authorisation to conduct regulated financial activity through Investment Nerds.
2. Formal approval
A person must be formally approved by Investment Nerds before representing themselves on the Platform as an Investment Nerds Expert, Creator, Educator or other officially designated Contributor.
Investment Nerds may establish different Contributor categories and eligibility requirements.
Approval may be conditional, limited to particular subjects, or withdrawn where reasonably necessary.
A Contributor must not imply that approval extends beyond the designation actually granted.
3. Verification
As part of approval or ongoing review, Investment Nerds may request and verify information reasonably relevant to a Contributor's identity, expertise and representations, including:
- identity information;
- educational or professional qualifications;
- licences, registrations or regulatory status;
- employment and professional affiliations;
- areas of expertise;
- public professional history; and
- other information reasonably necessary to assess eligibility, authenticity, safety or compliance.
Contributors must provide accurate, current and non-misleading information and promptly notify Investment Nerds of material changes affecting a verified claim.
Verification reflects information reasonably available at the time of review. It does not guarantee competence, future conduct, regulatory standing, accuracy of every statement, or suitability for an individual member.
Investment Nerds may periodically re-verify information or request additional evidence.
4. Educational scope
Contributor activity on Investment Nerds must remain educational and informational.
Contributors may explain investment concepts, discuss markets, analyse publicly available information, share research methods, discuss securities or products in a general educational context, and contribute other approved educational material.
Contributors must not use Investment Nerds to provide personalised investment recommendations based on a member's income, assets, liabilities, age, objectives, risk tolerance, experience, family circumstances, employment, portfolio, tax position or other personal circumstances.
Nothing about Contributor status creates an adviser-client, broker-client, fiduciary, agency or portfolio-management relationship between a Contributor, Investment Nerds and a member.
5. Regulated and professional activity
A Contributor must not conduct through Investment Nerds an activity requiring a licence, registration, approval or regulatory authorisation unless Investment Nerds has expressly introduced that activity under an appropriate lawful and authorised framework.
Contributors must not through the Platform:
- provide personalised investment advice;
- manage members' money or portfolios;
- execute investment transactions for members;
- receive or collect investment funds;
- provide paid investment signals;
- sell, offer or solicit securities or investment products;
- recruit investors;
- solicit clients for regulated investment services; or
- use educational activity as disguised investment solicitation.
A Contributor who describes themselves as regulated must accurately identify their professional capacity and, where relevant, the regulated entity with which they are associated.
Professional status outside Investment Nerds does not create permission to provide regulated services through Investment Nerds.
6. Qualifications and representations
Contributors must not:
- claim qualifications they do not hold;
- falsely claim to be licensed, registered or regulated;
- use expired, suspended or revoked credentials without appropriate disclosure;
- misrepresent employment or professional affiliations;
- imply that Investment Nerds or a regulator guarantees their competence or results; or
- imply that Investment Nerds approval constitutes a professional licence.
Investment Nerds may remove or correct Contributor information that is inaccurate, unverifiable or materially misleading.
7. Conflicts of interest
Contributors must disclose material conflicts of interest relevant to content they provide.
A disclosure may be required where a Contributor:
- owns an investment being discussed;
- works for or advises the issuer;
- receives compensation from an issuer or related party;
- receives commissions, referral fees or other benefits;
- has a commercial relationship with the company, product or service discussed; or
- has another financial or personal interest that could reasonably affect objectivity.
Disclosure should be clear, reasonably prominent and made close enough to the relevant content for members to understand the relationship.
Disclosure does not automatically make otherwise prohibited solicitation permissible.
Investment Nerds may require additional disclosure wording or decline, restrict or remove content where a conflict creates an unacceptable legal, regulatory or community risk.
8. Compensation by Investment Nerds
Investment Nerds does not currently guarantee compensation to Contributors.
Investment Nerds may introduce paid Contributor arrangements in the future for legitimate services such as educational content, courses, events, research, moderation, programme participation or other permitted work.
Any paid arrangement should be documented separately and should define, as applicable:
- the services or deliverables;
- compensation and payment terms;
- intellectual-property rights;
- disclosure requirements;
- confidentiality obligations;
- tax responsibilities;
- independence and editorial expectations;
- termination rights; and
- compliance obligations.
Compensation must not be structured or presented as payment for soliciting investments, generating investment transactions, steering members into financial products, providing personalised investment recommendations, or conducting activity requiring regulatory authorisation unless the relevant activity is lawfully authorised.
Where compensation or another material relationship could reasonably affect how members interpret Contributor content, the relationship should be disclosed where relevant.
9. External businesses, websites and profiles
Approved Contributors may identify or link to their legitimate professional websites, companies, publications or social-media profiles where Investment Nerds permits such links.
This permission does not allow Contributors to use Investment Nerds for prohibited solicitation.
Contributors must not use profiles, posts, comments, educational sessions, direct interactions or links as a concealed method of:
- recruiting investment clients;
- directing members into investment schemes;
- collecting investment money;
- selling securities or financial products;
- circumventing Investment Nerds' Community Guidelines; or
- conducting unauthorised regulated activity.
Investment Nerds may restrict links or promotional references where they create safety, legal, regulatory or community-integrity concerns.
10. Sponsored and commercial content
A Contributor must clearly disclose sponsorship, paid promotion, referral arrangements, free products or services, affiliate relationships and other material commercial relationships relevant to content.
Sponsored educational content remains subject to all restrictions on personalised advice, investment solicitation, misleading claims and regulated activity.
Investment Nerds may establish additional rules for sponsored or commercial content before enabling such programmes.
11. Accuracy and responsible communication
Contributors should exercise reasonable care when presenting investment and financial information.
Where reasonably practicable, Contributors should:
- use credible sources;
- distinguish verified facts from estimates, assumptions and opinions;
- identify material limitations;
- avoid presenting uncertain information as certain;
- discuss material risks alongside potential benefits; and
- correct material errors promptly after they become known.
Contributors must not guarantee profits, promise returns, deliberately exaggerate expected performance, manufacture urgency, encourage deceptive fear of missing out, or knowingly circulate materially false or misleading financial information.
12. Market integrity
Contributors must not use Investment Nerds to manipulate or attempt to manipulate markets.
Prohibited conduct includes:
- pump-and-dump activity;
- coordinated deceptive promotion;
- knowingly false statements intended to affect a security's price;
- concealment of material interests in coordinated promotional activity; and
- campaigns designed to create artificial demand or supply.
Investment Nerds may preserve relevant records and report or disclose information where required or permitted by applicable law.
13. Member information and privacy
Contributor access to member information must be limited to information legitimately made available for an approved Platform purpose.
Contributors must not:
- request brokerage, bank or mobile-money credentials;
- request passwords, PINs or authentication codes;
- reuse member information for unauthorised solicitation;
- disclose private member information without lawful authority;
- build independent marketing lists from Investment Nerds member information without authorisation; or
- process member information contrary to applicable law, Investment Nerds instructions or the Privacy Policy.
Information received for an approved educational interaction must not automatically be treated as permission for unrelated marketing or investment solicitation.
14. Intellectual property
Contributors must have the rights necessary to provide content they submit.
Specific commissioned or paid content may be governed by separate written terms addressing ownership, licences and reuse.
Absent separate terms, Contributor content remains subject to the user-content provisions of the Terms of Service.
Contributors must respect third-party copyright, trademarks, confidentiality and other intellectual-property rights.
15. Independence
Investment Nerds approval does not require a Contributor to adopt Investment Nerds' views on markets or investments.
Contributors may express differing educational opinions provided they comply with this Policy and other applicable rules.
Investment Nerds may moderate content for safety, accuracy concerns, legal compliance, undisclosed conflicts, misleading representations, solicitation or other policy violations without thereby assuming responsibility for every Contributor statement.
16. Monitoring and review
Investment Nerds may review Contributor activity and may request updated information where reasonably necessary to:
- verify credentials or affiliations;
- investigate complaints;
- assess conflicts;
- enforce Platform rules;
- protect members;
- address legal or regulatory concerns; or
- maintain the integrity of Contributor designations.
Investment Nerds does not undertake to continuously monitor every Contributor communication.
17. Suspension or withdrawal of Contributor status
Investment Nerds may warn, restrict, suspend or withdraw Contributor status where reasonably necessary, including for:
- false or misleading credentials;
- material undisclosed conflicts;
- personalised investment recommendations;
- investment solicitation;
- fraud or deception;
- serious or repeated misinformation;
- misuse of member information;
- market manipulation;
- serious Community Guideline violations;
- loss, suspension or material change of a claimed professional licence or affiliation; or
- legal, regulatory, security or reputational risk.
Withdrawal of Contributor status may be separate from suspension or termination of the underlying Investment Nerds account.
18. Reporting concerns
Members may report concerns about a Contributor through the in-app reporting system, support@investmentnerds.org, or another official reporting channel.
Investment Nerds may investigate reports, request information, preserve relevant records and take appropriate action under applicable policies and law.
19. Relationship with other policies
This Policy supplements the:
- Terms of Service;
- Community Guidelines;
- Privacy Policy;
- Investment Education Disclaimer; and
- Security & Responsible Disclosure Policy.
If this Policy conflicts with the Terms of Service, the Terms govern to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Nothing in this Policy grants permission to conduct activity prohibited by law or requiring authorisation that has not been obtained.
20. Changes to this Policy
Investment Nerds may update this Policy as its Contributor programmes develop or to respond to legal, regulatory, operational or safety requirements.
Material changes will be communicated through appropriate channels where required.
